At the present, Masaki Kaneko is a student of Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, University of Tsukuba. Masaki started his career from baby's swimming training with the 0 years old child. However, he faced to swimming seriously in his second grade of Junior High-school. He contained in the 7th place by Inter-high school athletic meet 100-meter backstroke at time of the third grade at a high school. With this result, He entered University of Tsukuba on recommendation. He was chosen as a federation of swimming reinforcement player in Japan in 2013. He set a new Japan’s record of the 200-meter backstroke at Japan swimming tournament (25m) in 2014. He participated in 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke in the FINA World Championships for the first time at Kazan (Russia) in August 2015. He achieved 2nd place by 200-meter backstroke at National Swimming Championships in April 2016 and captured representative of national team member of Rio 2016. Powerful vassallo kick and stroke are his distinctive quality.
